WHY FOSTER CREATIVITY?
Creativity is crucial for success. In an IBM Global CEO Study in 2010, creativity was selected as the most crucial factor for future success. 60% of CEO's interviewed cited creativity as the most important leadership quality.
Creativity enhances competitive advantage. A 2014 study by Adobe found that company's dubbed most creative, outperformed their counterparts in revenue growth and market share and they are 50% more likely to be market leaders. *1
'Being creative is essential to our economy'. Sir Ken Robinson, internationally recognised leader in the development of creativity, innovation and human resources in education and business.
Using arts practices as a role model for businesses. 'The arts are emerging as a role model for business and government organisations because the arts excel in areas where managers struggle the most: chaos, diversity, ambiguity, envisioning the future and the ability to dare to break molds'. - Wall street Journal - 19/8/3
Reframing failure. 'If your internalised view of failure is anything less than perfect, then you are disempowering yourself from exercising your inherent creativity.' *2 Our creativity workshops build mind shifts that enable you to inhabit a discovery mindset and to perceive so called failures as learning opportunities instead.
Enables reflection. As we become more expert at our job and what we do becomes second nature, it can be difficult to find ways to practice reflection. In these workshops, through practising a discovery mindset and active participation in non-verbal visual communication exercises, we can use individual and group feedback and analysis to reflect on our experiences before, during and after. This practice of noticing can strengthen our awareness and enable us to awaken to new possibilities. As David Seamon explains in his essay, Geothe, Nature and Phenomenology, 'As we begin to see more clearly, we learn to see more deeply. Understanding ourselves, others and the world with greater empathy, concern and respect is a significant process of transformation.' *3
